FAQs

Our FAQs are designed to answer common questions about treatments, appointments, and what to expect at Avelure Med Spa, so you can feel confident and informed every step of the way.

Many clients choose Radiesse® because results can be long-lasting, and the treatment may provide both immediate improvement and longer-term skin benefits. Your longevity depends on treatment area, metabolism, and the plan your provider designs for you.

Radiesse® is commonly used for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds like nasolabial folds. It is also used to correct volume loss in the back of the hands. It is not known to be safe or effective in the lips or the area around the eyes.

Both are dermal fillers used to smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as smile lines. Radiesse® (+) includes lidocaine for added comfort and is also indicated for improving moderate to severe loss of jawline contour in adults over 21. Your provider will recommend which option fits your treatment area and goals.

Yes. CoolTone® is completely noninvasive — there are no needles, no incisions, and no anesthesia required. The applicator is placed on the desired treatment area, and the treatment goes to work from there. Following your session, you should be able to go about your daily activities as you normally would.

Every squat, lunge, or crunch causes your muscle fibers to contract. CoolTone® uses Magnetic Muscle Stimulation (MMS) to trigger contractions in the same way — the key difference is that it induces far stronger contractions than your body can achieve voluntarily. All you have to do is lie there while the technology does the heavy lifting.

In the same way that a tough workout can feel intense, you may feel the “burn” during CoolTone® as your muscles contract. You may also experience muscular discomfort, temporary muscle spasm, temporary joint or tendon pain, and redness at or near the treatment site — everyone’s experience is different. These sensations are consistent with significant muscle engagement.

Your provider may recommend a series of 4–8 treatments over the course of two to four weeks, with sessions spaced at least one day apart for muscle recovery. Most patients begin noticing results after completing an initial series of four to eight CoolTone® treatments. Maintenance sessions may also be recommended to sustain results over time.

Only a provider can determine candidacy based on your individual medical history. Generally, most good candidates are 18 or older, are close to their ideal body weight, and do not have a contraindication to treatment — such as metal, active electrical, or electronic implants in or near the treatment area. A consultation is the best way to find out if CoolTone® is right for you.

Yes, the treatment is FDA-cleared and safe for all skin types and tones. Because the cooling technology specifically targets fat cells, it does not impact skin pigmentation or surface tissue.
